Well I may be biased since my dog is only 15 lbs, but 44 lbs or not she appears to be roughly the same size as your kitchen countertop.

My wife has two dogs. I have an interesting relationship with them. If it were left up to me, we wouldn’t have any dogs because they are too demanding. Her older dog worries about me constantly. I like dogs, but they’re too much work and I’m too lazy.
